Choices are Good

Part of doing what I do as a baker is coming up with new recipes and flavor combinations. I can honestly say that there really is a whole world of options...some I won't touch with a ten foot pole...and some that I just kinda say "nuyah" to.

This month, I'm asking our customers to help pick two new creations for the month of September. You will have the opportunity to vote on your favorite and have a say in which flavor gets launched onto our menu September 1st. You will also have the opportunity to win a dozen cupcakes, either the new flavor chosen or any flavor already on our menu. The contest starts Monday August 22, 2016 at 10am and will end Thursday August 25, 2016 at 10am. The winner of the free dozen standard sized cupcakes will be chosen by random drawing from all participants. All you have to do is post a comment under the picture of your choice of cupcake. The cupcake with the most comments will be added September 1st.

With that in mind, and being very inspired by all of the books, websites and lots of pictures and recipes...I've picked 3 possible cupcakes for the month of September. The pictures I have are Not mine. They are stock photos. The flavor combinations are not my original creations. Disney for one and Better Homes and Gardens for two of the recipes, are the original creative geniuses. I'll just be creating my own version of the recipes and come up with our spin on these. So, here's the FaceBook Link to log your vote and participate...and here are the choices for September...

The first contestant by BHG is a very delicious Cinnamon Roll Cupcake. It's a lovely buttery cupcake with two, count them, two layers of cinnamon, brown sugar and chopped nuts. Top this off with a scrumptious cream cheese icing and you now have the perfect excuse to eat a cinnamon roll at any hour.

Contestant number two is also by BHG and is a Caramel Apple Cupcake. This is a scrumptious Granny Smith Apple cake that is spiced to perfection with cinnamon and a hint of cloves topped with slices of baked apples at the top of the cupcake...then covered with a layer of homemade caramel and topped with a Green Apple Buttercream star.

Contestant number three is an oldie but goodie and was originally inspired by Disney. It is a Chocolate Peanut Buttercup Cupcake. A rich chocolate cupcake is paired with a rich peanut butter cream cheese icing. My version will have a delicious peanut butter and fudge drizzle and topped with peanut butter cups and chocolate and peanut butter chips.

Okay...I have all the ingredients to make each of these. Which one will you choose?
